Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can provide rapid relief from suffering. This evidence-based technique is widely recognized as an effective therapy for traumatic stress, anxiety and addiction.
An EMDR session involves the patient briefly focusing on a traumatic experience while engaging in bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements or tapping). This process reduces the intensity associated with a traumatic experience, allowing the patient to make sense of what they went through.
When providing EMDR, I integrate CBT, somatic experiencing and other evidence-based interventions to best support my clients. I adapt to the needs of each individual and am willing to be flexible to meet you where you are in processing your trauma.
