About me

My practice is guided by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic psychotherapy, which means I work with individuals to gain insight by evaluating patterns, emotions, thoughts and beliefs that have developed over time.

I received my master’s degree in social work from the Brown School at Washington University. After graduating, I worked at Clayton Behavioral’s substance use treatment program where I co-ran the teenage addiction program in addition to working with children and adults. I also worked as a clinical trauma therapist in a refugee camp on the border of Uganda and Sudan. My interest in trauma began while researching PTSD among east African torture survivors at the University of Haifa in Israel.

I am dedicated to learning about the newest evidence-based approaches to mental health and well-being and to provide an individualized approach based on your specific needs. I have received advanced training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention for OCD and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples. I am also a certified EMDR therapist and a Level 2 somatic experiencing (SE) practitioner.
